A Medical Camp was organized at the Hattaka School in Pitigala, located in the south of Sri Lanka. The event, which took place on November 13th, 2012, focused on the importance of a healthy life and was a great success. With help of volunteers and doctors there are in total 400 patients, both pupils of the school and their family were examined by specialists.
Each pupil was given vitamins, a worm treatment and some injections to protect against other diseases. Besides providing medical care, a donation was made to the school for the purchase of student record books. Also books were donated for the school library. The school itself is not located on a tea estate, but many children of tea pickers do attend this school.
